The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT is hosting a series of webinars [beginning tomorrow] to explain the proposed rule to support seamless and secure access, exchange, and use of electronic health information (EHI). The proposed rule is designed to increase innovation and competition by giving patients and their healthcare providers secure access to health information and new tools.

NMHIC HIE USERS’ THIRD ANNUAL CONFERENCE – UNITING NEW MEXICO: HEALTH INFORMATION INTEROPERABILITY IN THE SERVICE OF ALL NEW MEXICANS

NMHIC’s Third Annual HIE Users’ Conference was a sold-out success on Friday, November 9, 2018! This year, a wide variety of healthcare leaders gathered in two locations. The conference was graciously hosted by CHRISTUS St. Vincent Health System in Santa Fe and Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces. The two live sites came together via the Internet, and our keynote speaker, Elaine Fontaine, addressed both groups from the Rhode Island Quality Institute. Other guest presenters included speakers from the New Mexico Department of Health and The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). Handouts for our formal lecture segments can be found at this link:

ONLINE COURSE - Health Informatics Curriculum and Training for Transformation (HICATT)

HICATT, the Health Informatics Curriculum and Training for Transition program that was previously funded by the Office of the National Coordinator is available again! The HICATT course was offered until May, 2017 by the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Biomedical Informatics (SBMI) in partnership with the New Mexico Health Information Collaborative (NMHIC). The Continuing Education courses will now open to the public on October 9th and the cost is just $49 to access the materials for six months. Register by October 20th to receive a discount and only pay $25 by entering the discount code: EARLY BIRD.

NMHIC HIE Users’ Webinar Monthly Series – 3rd Tuesdays, 11:30-12:30 pm

This series is designed for participants in the health information exchange, and is open to all interested New Mexico stakeholders in our health care community. Each month, you’ll hear news, information, and user tips from NMHIC leadership and staffers. You will also hear interesting guest presentations on subjects of interest to the healthcare community, including inspiring examples of how interoperability is changing healthcare across the country.
